What to see and do in Tromsdalen
Visit us at AMFI Pyramiden
We are a shopping center with over 40 shops and dining areas. We are within walking distance to Fjellheisen and Ishavskatedralen.
At AMFI Pyramiden you will find both well-known chains and local stors. We have a good mix of stores in different categories such as: interior design stores, clothing stores, shoe store, pharmacy, health food, flower shop, optician, liquor store, bookstore, grocery store and cafés.
We have free parking if you drive a car. If you have an electric car, you will find 4 charging points down towards the E8.
Ishavskatedralen
Ishavskatedralen is a church. It has a characteristic shape that is supposed to give associations to icebergs.
Opening hours until 31.03.
- Weekdays 11 a.m-5 p.m
- Wednesdays 2 p.m-5 p.m.
- Sundays 1 p.m-5 p.m.
Admission costs 80 kroner, children under 12 enter free of charge.

Fjellheisen
Take the trip to the top of Tromsø. Enjoy the view of the beautiful city and take time to slow down.
Fjellheisen is 421 meters above sea level and you can take the cabelcar up. This takes 4 minutes. There are different prices whether you are travelling with a group or just want to take the cabel car one way.
You can also climb the Sherpatrappa to get to Fjellheisen. If you want to go up, you have to dress according to the weather and conditions.
Remember, in winter it can be slippery on the stairs. Remember to wear shoes with spikes or good stingers.
In the evenings, there is a high probability that you can see the Northern Lights when you are here.
Fjellheisen is open daily from 10 a.m to 12 a.m.
Gutta på skauen
Are you fond of hiking? Then the trip to Gutta på Skauen is nice. In here there are several fire pits and a lavvu. In winter, ski tracks are trodden all the way. On Sundays, campfire coffee is served between 12a.m-2 p.m.

Tromsdalen skøytebane
If you want to go ice skating, this is the perfect place to do it. On cold days, it's magical to do a few laps on the ice. You can rent skates inside the café.
They are open when weather permits.
- Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 p.m - 8 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m - 4 p.m.

Northern Lights
Remember to look up at the sky. On clear days, you will see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky.
How to get to Tromsdalen from Tromsø city centre:
Bus
There are several buses that go over to Tromsdalen.
- AMFI Pyramiden routes 26 and 28
- Ishavskatedralen routes 20, 24, 26 and 28. You get off just after the bridge.
- Fjellehisen route 26 stops just below the lower station if you want to take the cabelcar up.
- Gutta på Skauen route 20 and 24. Here you have to get off at Småbåthavna and go further up.
- Tromsdalen skøytebane routes 20 and 24. Here you have to get off at Småbåthavna and go further up
Walking
It is a nice walk from the city center and across the bridge to Tromsdalen. It is about 2 km from Tromsø city center to the Ishavskatedralen. The trip over the Tromsø Bridge provides good views. Remember to dress well, as it can be a bit windy and cold to walk over.
Taxi
There are several taxi companies in Tromsø. If you are going over to Tromsdalen, it may be worthwhile to go to the taxi rank at Stortorget.

Accommodation
If you want to live in close proximity to nature, but at the same time not too far away from the city center this is a very good option. At Tromsø Logde & Camping you will find cabins in different sizes and parking space for motorhomes and caravans.
Fly drones
In large parts of Tromsø it is not allowed to fly drone.
Avalanche danger
Going on a summit trip? Then we recommend that you keep an eye on varsom.no in relation to avalanche risk. Listen to local experienced mountain people about where it is safe to go.
