Swords in Rock Monument at Hafrsfjord

Just a stone’s throw away, we have the historical Swords in the Rock Monument of Hafrsfjord. Standing over 9 meters tall, the three swords are a symbol of the historical battle in the year 872, resulting in Harald Fairhair's victory and ultimately the unification of Norway. The site is about a 20-minute walk away, approximately 1.6 kilometers, and can also be accessed by bus number 16.

The Iron Age Farm at Ullandhaug

For the full Iron Age experience, we recommend visiting the Iron Age Farm at Ullandhaug. This site is truly one-of-a-kind in Norway and dates back to 350-550 AD. There, you can explore authentic buildings and see real objects excavated from the ruins while enjoying the warmth and captivating stories around the original fire pits. The site is about a 30-minute walk away, approximately 1.8 kilometers, and can also be accessed by bus numbers 4, 6, and 7.

The Ullandhaug Tower

To fully appreciate the panoramic view of Northern Jæren, we recommend visiting the Ullandhaug Tower. Built in 1964, the tower stands 64 meters tall and 135 meters above sea level. While primarily serving as a telecommunications hub, it is open to visitors who can enjoy the spectacular views. The location of the tower is nearby the iron age farm, within the distance of about 2.5 km from AMFI Madla. It is accessible by buses number 4 and 6.
